3 Ingredient Spiced Apple Chia Jam (GF, DF, Refined Sugar Free)

Nothing screams Fall like apples and spice.  I wanted to make a simple jam with one of my favorite Fall ingredients…Apples!  If you’ve ever made my 5 Ingredient Raspberry Goji Berry Chia Jam you know the magical powers of chia seeds to help create a delicious jam packed with omega 3’s, calcium, and antioxidants.  I did this in the slow cooker, but you can easily do this in a small saucepan.  Either way, the result will be a rich jam loaded with nutrients that you can spread on peanut butter toast, swirl into smoothies and yogurt, or even cocktails.  I know I said 3 ingredient and there’s technically 4 but I really don’t count the cinnamon as an ingredient.  Please don’t hold that against me.

Makes approximately 2 cups

1 1/2 cups unsweetend apple sauce

3 T chia seeds (I use Salba Chia a premium white chia seed)

1/2 cup coconut water or apple cider

1/2 t cinnamon

If you choose to do this in the slow cooker, place all ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for 5 hours and place in an airtight container and let cool.

If you choose the pan method, cook all ingredients in a pan over medium low heat for 20 minutes stirring every few minutes so that the mixture doesn’t burn.  Place in fridge for an hour in an airtight container and let cool.

Will keep for two weeks in the fridge in an airtight container.
