Hi friends!  How’s your week so far?  I’ve been exhausted after Halloween, soccer parties, after school activities, upcoming holiday menu planning and of course cooking!  Oh and the damn time change didn’t help matters either, because those of us with kids know that the time change doesn’t mean anything to them.  Because things have been so hectic, I still like to keep my morning breakfast routine fairly simple.  Sometimes it’s oatmeal, yogurt and granola, but my go to is usually a quick smoothie.  I wanted to create a smoothie that was not only festive and incorporated the flavors of the holiday season but of course also had to be filling and healthy.  You’ll love this smoothie so much!  It’s creamy, slightly sweet, and a little spicy from the ginger and cinnamon spices from my friends over at @simplyorganicfoods.  It tastes just like a gingerbread man cookie but without all the baking and guilt about eating 50 of them!  Speaking of Simply Organic, I’ve teamed up with them to help you celebrate Thursdays.  Share your organic moments and enter to win the ultimate #ThursdayMoments Giveaway by taking photos of your parties and recipe creations and uploading to Instagram using hashtag #ThursdayMoments!  For full details on the giveaway and a chance to win more than $7,000 worth of prizes, please visit https://www.simplyorganic.com/community/organic-moments #Sponsored

Ingredients

1/2 cup almond milk

2 T molasses

2 T almond butter

1/2 t ground ginger

1/4 t cinnamon

1 frozen banana

2 T vanilla yogurt

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

1 T vanilla extract

Blend all the ingredients above in a blender and top with your favorite toppings. I sprinkled mine with hemp and chia seeds, a drizzle of coconut oil and molasses, blueberries, and a dollop of almond butter. For added gingerbread flavor (and to be a little more indulgent), you could even add a couple of gingerbread cookies to the blender!
